Where Compliance is business critical.

Compliance is a business critical issue across many sectors. None more so than education, where much of our early work was done. Inspection regimes in the education sector and with them the demands put on managers and staff alike, are extremely rigourous.

Other sectors facing the challenge of this kind of rigour are, for example, insurance, accountancy, law and third sector organisations. For this variety of organisations the solution has to be flexible, adding a second level to the challenge we faced. The Developer system has been designed to meet these challenges head-on.

Demonstrating compliance is never easy. Our aim has always been to make it so.

In the course of our daily work before the mid-90s we had witnessed very senior managers spending huge amounts of time chasing paper in order to demonstrate very little. We decided that this was unacceptable.

Many hours, days and weeks of frustration and failure had to be replaced by a series of button clicks.

Demonstrating Compliance - The challenge

• A senior manager should spend no more than a few minutes demonstraing compliance to anyone who asks.
• Furthermore, this should have real-time validity, based on current up-to-the-minute information.
• This information should be a summary of day-to-day information from staff at all levels
• Compliance should be 3-tiered - measured at the individual, the team and the organisational levels

This was the task we set ourselves back in 1996.

We have achieved what we set out to do.
